Kaho`iwai would like to welcome Noe Kirby as the new Teacher Program Manager. Noe brings significant experience and expertise to the position. Supporting the program is Ikaika Jenks-Pua`a. Ikaika, a Moloka`i native, has recently returned from a stint in the US. We would like to welcome Noe and Ikaika to their new roles within the program.

Four New Teacher Education Program Scheduled

Kaho`iwai is seeking Native Hawaiian and other applicants for four new teacher education cohorts starting 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The program focuses on secondary English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Hawaiian Studies. Successful applicants will be provided with scholarship for the programs. Applicants require an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and a desire to work in Hawaiian Focused Charter Schools. Kaho`iwai- First in the State to Achieve National Accreditation from TEAC

Kahoˋiwai Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program, which is designed to produce graduates who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and values to meet the needs of Native Hawaiian children in education, has been granted initial accreditation by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) for a period of five years, from June 24, 2013 – June 24, 2018. Kaho`iwai is the first program in Hawai`i to received TEAC accreditation.
